Title: Post, Tweet, or Pin? Basic Business Etiquette for the Use of Social Media 9014; 1 day, Instructor-led
Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google+, SMS, Yelp, StumbleUpon, Yammer, AroundMe – the list is long and constantly growing. Social Media sites and apps are popping up everywhere, and businesses are clamoring to find ways to unleash the potential power of the technology. The question for the business professionals – outside of “Does my business/company need to be using one or more of these tools to engage potential or existing customers?” – is “What social media should I (personally or professionally) be using, and how do I best use it?” This quickly-evolving arena brings with it a good deal of uncertainty. With few firmly established guidelines or rules, new or potential users have a myriad of questions ranging from “How many apps should I be using – and which ones?” to “Where are the borders between business and personal use?” Directions’ “Post, Tweet, or Pin?” workshop is designed to help both businesses and individuals get an up-to-date handle on the broad range of social media applications and offer a market-based perspective on the risks – upside and downside of the business and social implications – for the organization or the professional who decides to jump onto the social media bandwagon.
